Cyanotype: Experimental Printmaking

Instructor: Elizabeth Robinson
Spend the day exploring the experimental process of cyanotype. Learn how to mix your own chemicals and develop images using the sun, printing on both paper and fabric. Make beautiful and experimental compositions using collage, layering, drawing and painting techniques. Play with local plants as well as objects form the scrap yard. At the end of the day, you will come away with an assortment of finished art works as well as the knowledge to confidently print at home.
All materials provided. Class size limited to 8 people, ages 16 and up.

A two-day class where you’ll learn the basics of improvisational patchwork and create your very first quilt! Over the course of two days, we’ll explore the radical histories of quilt making, learn how to use a sewing machine to create beautiful, improvised patchwork, and assemble the layers to make a crib-size quilt…
Perseid Meteor Shower Viewing Party!
The Perseids are coming! Come hang out at Ruby Mountain and watch the meteor shower from the dance deck, the tug boat, or the field! The Perseid meteor shower this year falls on a new moon which makes excellent conditions for night sky watching.

Purple Hour
A gathering for celebrating community, the golden sunset hour and then welcoming the magical desert purple hour as the full moon rises. Arrive by 7 pm for a land tour. Bring camp chairs and blankets N/A drinks available or BYOB. Sun sets at 8pm. Stay for the moon rise at 8:45pm.
